Well done to these pupils for achieving Student of the Month & Gaeilgeoir na Míosa.
Best of luck to these two pupils who will represent our school in the Larkin Shield and Sarsfield Cup this week.
Well done to all the boys and girls of 6th class who hosted the first school assembly of the year. They are a multi-talented group who made a huge effort to prove this on the day!
Huge effort made in 6th class today as we celebrate Halloween. Well done to all!
Ms O Riordan was so proud of the choir who sang beautifully at the Ballyneety Christmas market on Sunday 30th November ! They helped create a lovely festive atmosphere as people walked in to do some Christmas shopping. The rain did not dampen their spirits and they sang their hearts out! Thank you to Ms Murphy for playing the violin with us. And thank you to all the parents for coming too. It is greatly appreciated!
Here at Knockea school we are so proud of our 6th class pupil who played with the East Limerick Girl's Football Team this year. She lined out in the corner back position and played a stormer in both the semi-final and the final. It wasn't to be for the East Limerick Team on the night but what an incredible experience for all the players who took park to play in the final that took place in the Gaelic Grounds.
Congrats to our boys from 4th, 5th and 6th who won three of their four matches yesterday to reach the Mini 7s Football Final which will take place in Caherelly next Monday at 12pm.
Huge congratulations to this fantastic 6th class student who is part of the East Limerick girl's football squad. They played the West Team in the semi-final on Thursday 13th November and had a great win. She will play with her fantastic teammates in the Gaelic Grounds next Wednesday in the final. Maith thú! Best of luck to the team and to Ms Reilly who is a coach with the team.
Huge thanks to the Gardaí and Bus Éireann for organising a fantastic morning for seven of our 6th class boys. The lads acquited themselves superbly, winning two games, drawing two and losing only one game which was by a single goal. Parrticular mention to Garda Graham and Garda Barry for all their help.
What a day for Knockea! Massive congratulations to our boys in 5th and 6th class who had a fantasic win in the under 13s East Schools' Football Final. Great goals and points by Joe Kelly, Ryan O' Connell and Ronan O' Donnell were enough to see Knockea get over the line by two points. A special mention to the defensive effort in keeping out Crecora in the dying minutes also. It was great to see the lads get their rewards for all the hard work in training over the last month.
Well done to our football girls from 4th, 5th and 6th class who travelled to Doon on Thursday 9th October and competed in a football blitz against Doon, Lisnagry, Roxborough and Crecora. It was the first time going to the football blitz for some of our 4th class girls and they were fantastic. For our 6th class girls it was their last time playing in this competition and they left it all out on the pitch. Well done on your win against Crecora and best of luck to Lisnagry and Roxborough in the final. Our next girl's football outing will be the mini 7s competition after the midterm break. Keep an eye out for our photo in the next edition of the Green and White magazine!
Congratulations to this pupil who was awarded Student of the Month for September.
The boys and girls enjoyed perfecting the throw, pass and catch skills in rugby.
Junior Infants and 6th class pupils enjoyed Walk a Mile with a Smile as part of our Wellbeing Initiatives in the school.
6th class enjoyed consolidating their understanding of Place Value through board games and using our school chromebooks.
The boys and girls enjoyed Buddy Reading last Friday.
Every Friday, 6th class pupils head down to discover who the winning tables are in Junior and Senior Infants. The children get to head off with the Fun Squad for fun game time in the gym for 10 minutes as a reward to their efforts for the week. The 6th class are loving this as much as the Junior & Senior Infants as you will see from the pictures!
We had so much fun on Friday doing Buddy Reading with Rang a Sé. We split up, half of us went to sixth class and half of them came to our classroom. We picked a book from our lovely library and 6th class read it with us. There was lots of reading and chatting going on. Go raibh maith agaibh rang a sé.
Huge well done to our super camogie girls from 4th, 5th and 6th class who took part in the Laurel Hill Secondary School camogie blitz on Friday 19th September. The girls won the division 4 final on the day and were thrilled to return to Knockea with the cup. It was our 4th class girls' first time representing their school playing camogie, some might say they might be our lucky charm after their big win. We also bumped into some familair faces on the day as some of our past pupils were helping out on the day. Well done everyone! Many thanks to Laurel Hill for organising such a wonderful event, and the girls were delighted to receive their new water bottles and some sweets at the end of the day.
Today we started typing our India projects on Google slides using the chromebooks. Big thanks to 6th class for helping us out and sharing their tips!
