Congratulations to our Knockea student who represented her school and the East Limerick camogie team at the county finals yesterday. The East team played the West in their semi-final and made it to the final with a fantastic win over the west. Unfortuntely the City Team were the winners of the Neville Cup on the day but what a fantastic experience and achievement to make it to the final. Well done!
Well done to our school's Mini 7s Camogie Team who took part in a blitz in Caherelly on Wednesday 2nd April. For some of the players, this was their first time representing their school for camogie and some of our players last time playing in the mini 7s. They scored some fantastic goals and did themselves proud. The girls beat Crecora in their second match and showed some fabulous skills and teamwork in their games against Doon, Tineterrife and Caherelly. Thanks to the referees on the day and the parents and grandparents who helped out with lifts and cheered the girls on from the sidelines.
All at Knockea are immensely proud of our two boys from rang a sé who started on the East Limerick Schools Hurling Team yesterday in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale. They were taking part in the prestigious Mackey Cup. Well done lads!
Well done to the boys and girls who represented our school with pride today in the FAI 5 Aside Competition. A girl's team and a boy's team had qualified from the first tournament in Corbally a fortnight back. Our girls were unfortunate to be in a difficult group but nevertheless acquitted themselves very well. Our boy's team continued their fine form and have qualified for the county final next. Once again they won all of their three matches and are yet to concede a goal!
A fantastic morning was had in Corbally for the boys and girls from 5th and 6th at the FAI Primary 5s competition. Our students performed exceptionally well with great skill on show and some fantastic goals scored. We look forward now to the county finals as one of our boys' teams topped their group with three wins from three. Knockea abú!
We had great fun in 6th class this week dressed as some of our favourite characters from books and comics. We were delighted to join up with the 2nd Class students too for a buddy reading session. Thanks to everyone who made such a big effort!
Congratulations to our two boys from 6th class who have made the 2025 Mackey Cup Squad. They will be representing the schools of East Limerick in the coming weeks and we wish them the very best!

Sixth class have just begun a Maths station teaching series. Every Tuesday and Wednesday we will be joined by Ms. Jones and Ms. Murphy for different maths stations. Each station will last 12 minutes and the class will work on current topics, revision, problem solving as well as independent work on Khan Academy, an online resource which they can also log into at home.
We have been extremely busy in 6th class over the past few weeks. We had a visitor from the Hertitage in Schools programme teaching us about the ancient history of the Knockea and Ballyneety areas.
Congratulations to our two Knockea students who took part in the Larkin Shield semi-final last week. Unfortuntely the West Limerick team were the winners on the day but it has been a great experience for the girls and they have enjoyed every minute of it.
Well done to our Mini 7s girls who played in the Mini 7s blitz in Caherelly on a very sunny Monday afternoon on the 11th November. The girls played Caherelly, Roxborough and Crecora on the day. We came up against very strong Caherelly and Roxborough teams in our first two games but in our last game the girls gave it their all with some fantastic goals and points in their last game and came away with an excellent win! Well done girls!

6th class students recently took their maths lesson into the playground. They joined to make teams and partook in a "Maths Relay" which mixed problem solving with PE. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves! They raced to compete five addition and subtraction word problems which was a lot more challenging than they expected!
Our next group of 6th class students got in some practice ahead of the 6th Class Draughts Competition which begins next week!
