Junior & Senior Infants had a lovely visit from Anthony Galvin today. He told them all about The North and South Poles and about Tom Crean the explorer. The children loved it and they loved seeing all the clothes an explorer would have to wear if they visited The South Pole.
In April we learned a little bit about what plants and flowers need if they are to grow. We learned they need water, sunlight and soil. We planted some cress seeds in pots with some soil, watered them several times during the day and made sure they had lots of sunlight for two weeks. All our hard work paid off and look at how it grew! We're hoping to plant some sunflowers after the Easter break now that we are professional gardeners! Well done everyone!!
Bhí an buachaill seo ag déanamh obair iontach i rith an mhí Márta sna ranganna Gaeilge. Bhí sé ag cleachtadh na focail agus na frásaí nua agus ag éisteacht an t-am ar fad. Maith thú!!!

This week we are learning about capacity and using our estimation skills. We looked at the chalk box and the clay box and estimated which box would hold more water, we estimated the chalk box would because it looked bigger. We tested our idea by filling it with the cups. We needed 12 cups to fill our chalk box and only 9 for the clay box so we were right! Then we had a race outside trying to fill our box before the other team! Well done everyone, we think they might have heard our cheering all the way down in Ballyneety!!
On Friday we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day, we wore odd and colourful socks and created our own! Well done everyone!!
