4th class had a very busy and enjoyable Maths week. We started off the week with a Maths trail with 2nd class using our school environment to answer questions and solve riddles as we walked around in groups. We continued with our Maths stations with our support teachers and are really progressing well with the topics. We are doing Data this week in our Maths class and decided to survey all our classes with several questions including What is your favourite colour? What is your favourite ice-cream? What is your favourite sport? What is your favourite subject? What is your favourite hobby? What is your favourite animal? This was great fun and it was great to find out this information. We really enjoyed our online zoom quiz this morning and answered questions about sweets, heights of Olympians, how many pringles in a tube, what height is the tube and estimating the weight of a puppy!
4th class pupils are really enjoying Maths stations twice a week. There are three teachers in the room working at stations to help with several topics in the Maths curriculum. Stations include problem solving, daily 10 questions on the whiteboard, revision work on the previous weeks topic, card games using tables and the topic of the week reinforced in small groups with the class teacher. This is a great chance for the boys and girls to practise their maths skills while having fun at the same time.
