2nd class had a great day exploring Crag Cave on their school tour! 🚌 From fascinating cave formations to fun activities, it was a day full of adventure and excitement!

2nd class all deserved an ice cream treat today as our class reached 5,000 class dojo class. Well done everyone for showing great teamwork !

Today we had a visit from Anthony who works with the heritage centre. He told us stories of the brave explorers Tom Crean , Teddy and Scott on their race to the South Pole.

2nd class were in disguise today . Can you spot the different characters we had for World Book Day ? Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, Animals, Villains, Heroes,Biography of real life people and our 2 rogues . We really enjoyed buddy reading with our friends in 6th class . We read a little bit to them and listened to some of their favourite stories.
2nd class really enjoyed their first hurling tournament against Roxborough this week. Well done to all for showing great teamwork . Next Wednesday the next group will be travelling to Roxborough for their match . Mr Shanahan is looking for lifts and details can be found on the school app.

We had a lovely cosy day this Friday as a reward for working as a team to earn 2,000 class dojo points . It was made all the better by the parent council kindly giving us chocolate Santas to enjoy while watching the Toy Show. Hallie & Ria also brought treats for us. Christmas cheer was all around !
We celebrated Scienceweek this week in 2nd class. We had a visit from Claire from the heritage council who showed us some hereos that live in our gardens. It was interesting to hear of some local wildlife in danger of extinction like the dragonfly , bumblebee ( not honey bee) and bats. We identified some mini beasts from outside and examined them with our magnifying glasses. We used all our 5 senses this week and enjoyed some experiments along the way.
