We would like to say a big thank you for supporting our Family Bingo night, organised by our brilliant Parent's Council. It was a great night and enjoyed by all age groups! We had lots of great sponsorship and spot prizes which added to the excitement. Thank you to all who donated spot prizes, gave a donation and came on the night.
Well done to our 6th class boys who performed very well in the county finals of the FAI soccer tournament.
Congratulations to our Knockea student who represented her school and the East Limerick camogie team at the county finals yesterday. The East team played the West in their semi-final and made it to the final with a fantastic win over the west. Unfortuntely the City Team were the winners of the Neville Cup on the day but what a fantastic experience and achievement to make it to the final. Well done!
Believe it or not, socks get people talking!
To celebrate St. Patricks Day and to conclude our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations, we will have a Lá Glas on Friday 14th March. The children can wear something green that day to celebrate our national festival. We will be having a big céilí in our school hall on the same day and it is always great fun!
5th Class, 6th Class and the Knockea school choir performed at the Peace Proms concert on Sunday 2nd March. They sang and danced together with lots of other schools. They had the wonderful experience of singing with a full live orchestra. The children sang eight songs in total. A musicals medley, dance medley and pop medley were included in their repertoire. The many months of practice definitely paid off , as the conductor Greg Beardsell came up to the Knockea group after the rehearsal to personally compliment the children. We can all agree that the children were absolutley amazing! Nathan and Oran were extra busy performing brilliantly on Sunday, as they played the bagpipes with the City of Limerick pipe band throughout the concert too! Ms O Riordan and all the staff in Knockea were super proud of all the children. Sincere thanks to all the staff who helped the children to prepare for this. Well done all!

Seachtain na Gaeilge 2025 will take place over the next two weeks all over the country. The pupils of Knockea N.S. will be very busy over this period performing for our Raidió Cnoc Cae, practising for our Ceilí Mór, polishing up on our frasaí and preparing for our table quiz. World Book Day is being celebrated on Thursday 6th March this year.
