Exploring Nature and Growing Microgreens.
Today, our class explored nature by learning to identify different trees and discussing their importance. We also planted our own microgreens!
Microgreens are quick to grow, edible plants with soft stems and leaves — full of flavour and nutrients. The children brought their planted microgreens home today.
Care instructions:
- Keep the lid closed for one day.
- Then place the container on a sunny windowsill.
- In 2–4 days, the seeds will begin to sprout.
- In 7–10 days, the microgreens will be ready to eat!
As part of homework next Tuesday, children will measure how tall their microgreens have grown. Each child will receive a new ruler and pencil for this activity.
Below are some of the birds we can look out for in our gardens. Listen carefully to see if you can hear their songs.
