We attended the Science Blast competition in UL last Thursday. We decided to do our project on the heart.

Questions to investigate:

What school activities make our hearts beat the fastest?

What can we do to keep our heart healthy?

Four activities were selected to do over 5 days and we filled in a simple record sheet with our findings.

(Running on the spot, jumping jacks, skipping and dancing)

We calculated our average results each day. Skipping was the activity that raised our heart rate the most.

During our project we looked at some of the healthy foods that we could eat and the unhealthy foods we should avoid. We showed our judge Liz how many teaspoons of sugar were in a can a 7up.

We also had a chance to go to 2 workshops on the day.

It was an amazing experience!!
